Dublin Celts vs Belfast Giants

Two touchdowns in the second quarter by Ian Biddulph and Andy Olszewski, aided by a dominant display by their defense enabled Dublin Celts to defeat Tennent’s Giants at Wanderers Rugby Club in Dublin. The win was the Celts fourth in a row, and consigned the Giants to their first defeat of the season.

Dublin Celts vs Jordanstown Jaguars

Dublin Celts got their season off to a winning start with a 28-6 defeat o Jordanstown Jaguars at Wanderers Rugby Club. Grattan Hood ran 54 yards for a touchdown on the second play of the game as the stidents from University of Ulster Jordanstown were given a baptism of fire in their first competitive game.

Hood, Martin Murphy and Joe Moore added three more touchdowns to the Celts’ total, with the Jaguars gaining one touchdown in reply. The Jaguars faced another power in Irish Gridiron Football the following week when they hosted Belfast Blitzers, early favourites for the title having defeated East Side Jets 92-0 in their opening game the previous week. The Celts travelled to Coleraine to take on the Chieftains in Week 3.

Two weeks after defeating Wirral Wolves of Liverpool in a Friendly match at Stradbrook, Blackrock, Co. Dublin, the Dublin Celts narrowly defeated Newcastle Senators 16-14 at Wanderers FC Rugby Club in Ballsbridge, Dublin. to continue their winning streak versus English American Football Teams.
