Recap
Toronto Argonauts started and finished the game the stronger as they opened up an 8-0 lead in the first quarter on McLeod Bethel-Thompson’s touchdown pass to Juwan Brescain. Kurleigh Gittens Jr scored the game-tying TD in the fourth quaster while Boris Bede Kicked the game-winning FG from 32 yards as well as an earlier attempt from 54 yards in the third quarter.
In between Calgary scored on Rene Paredes 20 yard Field Goal in the first and then in the second quarter wentr ahead when Kamar Jorden hauled in a pass from Bo Levi Mitchell. The teams then traded Fiield Goals before Bede missed a possible tying FG with minutes left in the first half.
Jorden scored what looked like his second TD of the match early in the third but Toronto succesfully challenged that there was a penalty on the play. Calgary went for Coltion Hunchak this time from Mitchell’s pass but he was not able to haul it in, and despite a challenge of holding from Calgary the play stood and the Stampeders turned the ball over on downs.
Paredes then added two Field Goals to make the score 20-12 late in the third quarter before Bethel-Thompson’s strike to Gittens Jr, with Eric Rogers catching the two-point conversion to even the game up. With just 31 seconds remaining Bede scored what proved to be the winning Field Goal, from 32 yards out, Mitchell’s last gasp attempt for Calgary being picked off by Shaq Richardson to end the game at Toronto Argonauts 23 Calgary Stampeders 20
