Toledo Maroons were no match for Jim Thorpe’s Canton Bulldogs, failing even to get a first down, and never threatening to score. The Bulldogs on the otherhand scored Touchdowns once in the first quarter, twice in each of the second and third quarters and once again in the fourth quarter. The Bulldogs Touchdowns were scored by Martin (2), Hendren, Whalen, Griggs and Calao. Fenney scored all six Goals from Touchdowns for a 42-0 victory to put Canton 2-0 in the Standings.
Of interest to Irish readers is the names in both Canton Bulldogs and Toledo Maroons squads. Canton featured players named Corcoran, O’Connor, Fenney, Whalen, Gilroy, Martin and Perry. Toledo’s squad featured Dwyer and Kelly.
