Soon after the restart Hollowell added his second Touchdown of the day to make it 13-6 to Belfast. With two minutes left on the clock Carrickfergus hit back, scoring a touchdown which was converted for two points after they ran in the extra point attempt to give Cougars a 14-13 lead. The Spartans replied immediately, as they marched right down the field, moving the ball 50 yards to set up a potential winning field goal attempt, which was charged down, giving the Cougars victory by the slenderest of margins.
