Örebro Black Knights players Joe Cafferty and Eric Murphy, both of whom have Irish names played an important part in the Black Knights second score of the SM-Final (Swedish American Football Championship Game) in 2015, a Joe Cafferty Field Goal which put the Black Knights 10-7 up in the second quarter after linebacker Eric Murphy had Intercepted A Hermodsson’s Pass thus setting up Cafferty’s Field Goal attempt.

It was the highpoint for the Örebro team as the Carlstad Crusaders scored five more touchdowns in the second, third and fourth quarters before a late Black Knights consolation left the Final Score Carlstad Crusaders 42 Örebro Black Knights 17.

Carlsatd Crusaders went on to win the Champions League title later in the year against Vukovi Belgrade of Serbia. The win over the Black Knights was Carlstad’s 6th Swedish Super Serien title in a row and their 13th appearance in the SM-Final in 14 years.
